Buxus Sempervirens ( Common Box)
 
Buxus comes in all shapes and sizes from, Balls, Cones, Pyramids, Spirals, Cubes, Columns, Cylinders, and Multiple Ball Shapes.
They can either be machine or hand clipped, the latter preferable, into ornamental shapes, enhancing formal and informal perceptions, preferably during July and August. Although it is suggested that they are not pruned to late in the season as this would enhance winter injury. They are very tolerant to Pruning.
 
Buxus can be positioned in formal and informal areas of choice, Patios, Balconies or open areas, either in Planters or open ground. They prefer Semi Shade, Soli Texture- Light- Medium Loamy Soil, and been well drained.
Buxus have Elliptical   dark evergreen leaves with dense green habitat, making them ideal for shaping.
 
Common Box make excellent Formal Hedging in dwarf form, preferably 9-15 inches apart, whilst recently are also used for Screening. It has been said that the leaves have a highly refreshingly scented leaf.
Buxus Grow 4-6 inches each year and are also sold either bare rooted( Root Ball) or in Planters of your choice, or in Plastic Containers. However, Root Ball selection should only be considered during the months of November- March, when they are dormant.
 
Watering should be done twice a week whilst in Planters and a Liquid Feed could be considered prior to Spring to encourage Growth and Leaf Texture.
